I frequent Boracay. In fact, this was my 6th time on the island. I made sure, though, that there would still be something new to try because there is always something new.
Some people might say that it’s overrated; I totally disagree. I’ve been traveling around the Philippines for four years now and so far, among all the beaches I’ve been to, Boracay has the best powdery white sand, crystal clear water, a gorgeous sunset, and the best nightlife!
And now that the island has been rehabilitated, you can be sure that it’s even better in terms of everything. It’s more organized. Roads are wider. The surroundings are cleaner. It wouldn’t be one of the best islands in the world for nothing.
We really love staying in a beachfront resort on Boracay Island. Let alone stay in a Mediterranean inspired one that exudes luxurious vibes especially if it’s located right at the center of the white beach strip where restaurants, bars, and the D’Mall are all a short distance away.
Gloriously standing for nearly 20 years, Henann Regency Resort & Spa is the first establishment in Boracay to gain the highest resort rating from the Department of Tourism.
It will give you that cozy and classic vibe the moment you enter the hotel lobby. I was welcomed with a warm smile by their staff. The check-in was smooth and fast.
I got an east deluxe room with a nice pool view. I believe all the rooms were designed to have a nice pool view or beach view depending on which part of the resort you are staying in.
I loved that I had my own veranda with outdoor dinette set, a perfect space for when I wanted to chill out.
At 40 sqm, my room was more spacious for two than I expected. It had one queen-size bed and one single-size bed. It was ideal for a small group of friends or family traveling with children.
The floor and the wall are painted cream and brown, giving me natural and earthy colors. Everything looked clean, neat and classically-designed.
I’d give a bonus point for the full-length mirror in front of the closet. It got my attention the moment I entered the room. The bathroom was spacious. The counter had sufficient space for all my stuff. The marble-clad bathroom made it look more luxurious.
Toiletries were complete. Fluffy, high-quality towels were aplenty. It’s definitely a delightful experience to wrap yourself with a soft, absorbent fluffy bath towel right after taking a shower, right?
Henann Regency Resort and Spa has one of the best beds you can ever lie on. When I pressed my bed, it had the right amount of firmness and softness–exactly what I’ve been looking for every time I’d stay in a hotel during a holiday. The comforter was breathable, cool to cover yourself with, and comfortable on the skin.
My room had everything I needed. Strong Wi-Fi connection, minibar, 32-inch LCD TV, a writing desk, which was very important for me since I would do a lot of work on my laptop, phone, in-room safe, ironing facilities (by request), and hairdryer.
What I loved more about my stay at Henann Regency Hotel and Spa was the consistency of their housekeeping. I remember leaving our room to go out for an afternoon walk and voila! When I got back, my room was totally clean.
Just don’t forget to hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign in the morning, because for sure, they will knock on your door to make up your room.
Hotel amenities include three big pools and one kiddie pool. One of the pools has a bar where you can order drinks. Other facilities include a spa, a convention center, a fitness center, restaurant outlets, a cafe, a bar and lounge, and my favorite, the VIP lounge that is open from 5 PM to 7 PM for free-flowing drinks and snacks. Yup, I love that thing called “all you can drink.”
The next day, I woke up early to enjoy my breakfast at the Sea Breeze Cafe. They serve a wide variety of delicious and heavy Filipino, Western, Vegetarian and Oriental meals. Make sure to come early for breakfast and get a table at the veranda, as it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your meal while watching people walking along the beach.
