Best 5-Day Da Nang and Hoi An Travel Guide

Danang

I love the vibes of Hanoi, but if there’s a place I could live in Vietnam, I’d choose Da Nang. Why Da Nang? I’m biased towards beaches! Seriously, Da Nang is very livable. I’ve read in several articles that it’s the most livable place in Vietnam and one of the best in Asia for expats.

How would I describe Da Nang to someone who hasn’t been there? Think of Mactan and Cebu City in the Philippines, but cleaner, traffic-free, and well-organized. They have a long beach with areas for public use and luxury resorts. Plus, there’s a bustling area right next to the beach with buildings, hotels, cafes, restaurants, bars, and more. In just a one-hour drive, you’ll reach Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre famous for its well-preserved Ancient Town, intersected by charming canals.

Hoi An

Da Nang and Hoi An, nestled along the stunning coastline of Central Vietnam, are two gems that offer a perfect blend of rich history, culture, and natural beauty. Da Nang boasts pristine beaches and modern attractions, while Hoi An enchants its ancient town filled with lantern-lit streets, traditional architecture, and vibrant markets. These two places In Vietnam is so far my favorites.

Getting from Da Nang to Hoi An:

For solo travelers, the airport shuttle is the most convenient option, offering direct transport from Da Nang Airport to Hoi An town center and vice versa for only 155,000 VND ($6.50).

If you’re traveling with a group, a taxi or Grab provides comfort and affordability. Rates start from 320,000 VND ($13.50), and you can easily catch one at the airport or book a private transfer in advance.
