Approximately two-hour drive from Manila, Los Baños, one of the first class municipalities in Laguna is situated on the northern foothills of Mt. Makiling. It is a famous place among people like to escape the busy life of the metro and those who are looking for a perfect place for a family gathering or company outing. Likewise, it is known its numerous hot springs and private resorts.
I’ve joined several team buildings in Laguna and saw different private resorts. I’ve seen average accommodation as well as the worse type of accommodation, but it only recently that I found a place that I believe offers the best value for a private resort in Los Baños, and it’s Myrna’s Resort.
Getting There:
Myrna’s Resort is located in Lakewood Subdivision, Lalakay.
Via Public Transport:
Take a bus bound to Sta. Cruz Laguna and drop off at Splash Mountain resort. Turn left after Splash Mountain Resort and walk inside going to the resort.
For people without a private vehicle, going in and out of the subdivision will be challenging because it’s far from the main road. I suggest you bring all necessary things for your outing prior to coming there because the area is secluded.
Via Private Car:
Thru the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) take the Calamba exit and drive towards Los Baños. Watch the road signs to Los Baños that will direct you to make a right in Calamba junction and upon reaching the busy Pansol resort area drive another 4 km. Splash Mountain is located on a curve immediately after two hills sandwiching the highway. Turn left after Splash Mountain Resort, then drive straight when you see the Arch of Lakewood Subdivision. Kindly ask the guard on duty for further instructions.
Accommodation
We rented Myrna’s Resort building no. 3 for an overnight stay. The following shows the complete description of the resort based on their post:
- Adult and Kiddie pool (natural hot spring)
- 5 bedrooms with full A/C, can take from 5 to 6 persons per room
- Kitchen
- Stove Range
- Refrigerator
- Cooking Utensils
- 4 Bathrooms
- Videoke
- House has a sleeping capacity of 25 to 30 persons
- Fully furnished house with tables, chairs, pillows, blankets, etc.
- Gas stove (additional PHP300)
The place is well-taken care off by its caretaker, Jonel. In my opinion, the management is lucky to have this guy work at their resort. It is not easy to take care of this huge property especially when it’s always packed with guests, most of which come in groups.
Amenities
The entire place is neat and organized. The water from the pool is warm, clean, and the smell of chlorine is not overpowering. A garage is a perfect place for drinking sessions and games. On the ground floor, they have a spacious living room, dining area, and kitchen. The master’s bedroom has a private restroom with a bathtub.
There are 4 bedrooms plus 2 common bathrooms with hot and cold shower on the second floor. It also has a pleasant common area and veranda with the view of the mountains. Rooms have clean and comfortable beds and pillows and a closet. Also, all A/Cs are working fine.
We had a comfortable and enjoyable overnight stay at Myrna’s Resort. The management is easy to deal with. This is a highly recommended place for your next team building, family gathering, or pool party.
