Casa Alegria: Your Newest Home in Tagaytay

Casa Alegria

“House of Happiness,” that’s how Chef Albright defines Casa Alegria, a family rest house turns bed & breakfast. Located at Ligaya Drive, Tagaytay, this tranquil place is surrounded by tall green trees with a rewarding view of Taal Lake and the volcano.

“Good Morning! May reservation po kayo ngayon Sir? (Do you have a reservation for today sir)”? asked the guard who assisted us in the car parking. The guard was so warm and friendly, I suddenly remembered the praises that were given to him on online reviews.

As we walked toward the reception office, I expected to be welcomed by staff wearing their uniform just like how it usually is in the previous hotels or bed & breakfast that I went to. Instead, there were two ladies wearing their “pambahay”  (house clothes) while preparing lunch. My first impression is that it was a non-intimidating, homey, and comfortable place.

Kuya Rey, their guard, was the same person who assisted us to our room. He offered to carry our bags. We got their newest suite room number 6, which was recently opened for public last July 1, 2016. As we slowly opened the thick wooden door,

I was amazed to see my room for the night. It was so elegant, definitely exceeded my expectations for a bed & breakfast. It made me want to do a happy dance.

The room was as perfect as a fine English tea. It was every shade of luxury from the smooth and unpainted walls, the charcoal grey curtains, to the thick and soft mattress.

There’s a water massage bathtub, SMART TV, with home theatre system. I can still remember when I played my favorite Adele Song, the quality was so good it’s like I was listening to a live a concert.

Could there be anything finer than a bed & breakfast with a direct view of Taal Volcano? The view is like a moving painting. The location is away from the busy part of Tagaytay, giving us a more peaceful and relaxing stay. The place is perfect for people looking for an intimate staycation.

Formerly a lawn, the family decided to convert it into an outdoor pool as explained by Chef Albright. The view from the pool was exceptional indeed because of its perfect location.

Every corner of Casa Alegria will give you the outstanding view of Taal. He even showed us a spot where the staff house is located where we saw an unobstructed view of Taal.

Casa Alegria Room 2

Published rate is 4,200php on weekdays and 5,200php on weekends and holidays. Inclusive of breakfast for two.

Room 3 will give you the best view compared with the rest. I was astonished to see the huge glass wall right in the front. The only difference with room number 2 is, it doesn’t have its own veranda.

Imagine yourself lying on the bed, watching the sunrise, the movements of clouds, the beauty of Taal until sunset, or maybe see the stars at night. Isn’t that spectacular?

Casa Alegria Room 3

Published rate is 4,200 on weekdays and 5,200 on weekends and holidays. Inclusive of breakfast for two.

Room 4 is their family room. It has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and 2 single beds. I loved the little window of this room, it’s like having a little natural painting of Taal on your headboard.

Casa Alegria Room 4

Publish rate is 5,000php  on weekdays and 6,000php on weekends and holidays. Inclusive of breakfast for four.

Room 5 or deluxe queen is their most affordable room located at the lower right corner of the building. It’s a 20 sq.m room with basic amenities and a garden view. It has a small sofa and a dining table too.

Casa Alegria Room 5

Publish rate is 3,800 on weekdays and 4,800 on weekends and holidays inclusive of breakfast for two.

All rooms are air-conditioned, daily housekeeping, and complimentary toiletries are available. Guests are also entitled to free parking during their stay.

During our interview, Chef Albright said that he’s aware that Casa Alegria still has room for improvements. One of the things that they’re working on is to have their own fully functional restaurant because currently, they only serve breakfast.

Guests need to go out to look for food or if possible have it delivered there if they want to eat during their stay and breakfast time is over.

He is also looking into the installation of a good Internet connection because the Internet is hard to come by around that area.

We also had issues on cable channels in our room. So I tried to tether our SMART TV on my phone and it was surprisingly fast. Here I had the chance to play videos on Youtube and enjoy the home theater systems of our room.

If you are not going to bring a car, you can still visit Casa Alegria via public transport.

How to Get Here

  • […] you go, whether youโ€™re looking for a homestay, hometel or bed and breakfast, these places that served as my home during my nine-day stay in Batanes will surely not […]

  • Hi. I am planning for an overnight stay for a quick get away for me and my partner. Im glad i’ve red your blog about casa alegria. At the same time, i would like to celebrate our 7th yr anniversary with it. (June 21-22, 2017)
Since they only serve breakfast food.. is it allowed to bring foods inside the hotel? And may i ask if i can request or bring some lights for a simple romantic setup for our anniversary celebration. ๐Ÿ™‚
Do they also offer a spa or massage or any other activities?
Thanks again and im very very excited to visit this place very soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Glad to have read about your post especially on the rooms. The route going to Talisay, Batangas has the best views of Taal Volcano and Casa Alegria happens to be there. I just frequently see it from the outside and thanks to your blog, I’m finally able to see their rooms ๐Ÿ™‚ May I know if their pool is heated? I intend to bring my 3yo son who happens to be an aquaphile but I’m afraid that he might get sick if the weather is cold and he insists on swimming in the cold pool. Thanks!

    • Hello Jan,

Thank you for reading my article Jan. I appreciate it. The pool is not heated. Though, I heard they have a plan to make it heated. The water is not that cold but might be too cold for your 3years old son ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Kinilig ako when I read this post! I am looking for a new place to stay in Tagaytay and this looks perfect.

  • That view is worth a million bucks. I love it! Looks absolutely spectacular!

  • this place is nice and it is near manila! this would be perfect for a quiet and relaxing time

  • Woooow the view is perfect. We just came from Tagaytay last weekend and we couldn’t get enough. I love the rooms with tall glass windows overlooking the lake. It’s so dreamy!

  • What a stunning location.

Talk about a room with a view!

  • Oh my! Casa Alegria looks like a fantastic place to hold a wedding and reception. <3 *wedding idea mode* Or even, a 2 night staycation to get away from it all. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The bath tub photo is legit fun! It's been a long time since my fiance and I went to Tagaytay, maybe we could plan to celebrate our anniversary here. Thank you for the lovely post!

  • The views from the rooms are gorgeous, I can imagine waking up and seeing the sunrise in the morning, from my bed. Or having a glass of wine in the evening in that infinity pool. A truly relaxing place!

  • Looks great. Nice room & awesome view! Must be great to be in that room and just look at the scenery. I love the hanging chair as well, looks very relaxing.
And ofcourse the pool! Very nice.

  • This looks like an awesome hotel! Not too fancy or pretentious, but just right. It looks like there are plenty of nice room options, but I think I like yours the best, with that view!

  • That is a fine experience. If ever I have the chance to stay there, I would love to experience their suite room too with that unobstructed view of the taal lake. And the pool looks small, but it’s just right for chilling. I don’t think people would want to stay long there anyway since Tagaytay is a cool place so it may get cold to swim. Indeed, Casa Alegria exceeds a bed & breakfast as it looks exquisite. Hope I can experience it too in the future.

  • I loved the suite room they gave you! It’s huge and the scenery is great. I also loved the fact that it has no swan towels over your bed. That’s so cheesy! I wish they didn’t have that in their other rooms too. What I also love about Casa Alegria is the facade which is made up of wood! It may look weathered but it looks homey for me.

  • What a cozy and super relaxing place to stay! Wow, i just love everything about it.. the ambiance and the view outside the room is simply amazing!

  • Such a beautiful view! I would never room my room, just for that view! Maybe I would leave it, only to get into the pool so I can get a closer look of the VIEW! Can you tell I’m a sucker for a good view?!

  • The place looks very homey, which is a great characteristic for Tagaytay. It’s like the closer version of Baguio, with just as much nostalgia. Loving the pool and also the fact that it’s not very crowded. The pool too is great! Nice tat btw ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I love the floor to ceiling glass windows! Especially with a view like that. The bubble bath looks incredible too, with some music blasting on the home theatre system ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Tagaytay is one of the places I long to visit with my family. I know it’s just nearby and one time we will go there. Perhaps we’ll stay at Casa Alegria.

  • Oh my! Ang ganda and looks peaceful. I’m willing to spend if ganyan naman kaganda! Now I have an idea where to go for our anniversary. Thanks for sharing!

  • This seems like a nice warm place, a home away from home. It has that comfortable and homely feeling. Combine that with the spectacular views, a clear winner all the way. Would love to spend some time here.

  • There doesn’t seem to be a bad view anywhere! I love the floor to ceiling windows – I miss that even from just my old place in Toronto. Looks like a great stay!

  • I love this place, i love the view and the weather there. Oh when were visit the Tagaytay again with my hubby ๐Ÿ™‚ your so lucky bro.

  • Wooow, this is unreal,
Why Can’t my house be like.that!

  • Feel na feel mo yung bathtub ah hahaha… In fairness the place looks nice and i offers a wonderful view too. Hopefully I’d get to experience it myself.

  • The place looks nice especially the view at the pool. Buffet ba yung breakfast?

  • That’s great views you got there at the pool ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing with us Casa Alegria!
